Isn’t there a authentication code needed?

There’s another way to dial out using google voice. It should be slightly faster, since you don’t have to wait for google voice to pick up before dialing out.

Here’s the gist of it. In the dial plan, use a google voice dial script to initiate the call to the destination number with the ring back set to one of your trunks (e.g. gizmo5). Place the call in a conference. When the ring back comes in, place it in the same conference. Voila!

The only drawback is that the call log might look a little weird.

Is there a short way to get a google voice accouont? I have quie a few accounts with google services but can’t get yet a voice account..

Ward: You should get a Nobel Prize in Math for coming up with equation!!! So simple yet so powerful.

I do have a question, though. Why can I not use my Google Voice number as my primary DID? And, if that was the case, I wouldn’t want DND turned on. Would this set up work if DND remains turned off?

[WM: It’s just one line. So you can’t be taking calls on it and also using it to set up outbound calls unless it’s just you.]

I’ll have to try this but I do know that the Gizmo5 backdoor dialing doesn’t work anymore. They turned it off 🙁

Gizmo Back Door dialing has not worked for quite some time. Google searches reveal it happened within a few days of the original article — no notification from Gizmo, just doesn’t work anymore.

Can you confirm?
