Curious why you recommend against running the PBX locally — a “Death Wish”, as you colorfully put it.

[WM: Because local hardware and power typically fail long before cloud-based solutions and because users typically don't make backups of their systems.]

With many production systems on IncrediblePBX for many years, the only instability of consequence we've ever encountered were firewall based - full stop. Ward & Co. consistently provide stable releases that just run. Proprietary options have some nice toys at times, however, rarely have I not seen a commensurate option appear for IncrediblePBX at some point as well.

A little well earned cheer-leading to be sure, however, I have never found anything remotely close in the VoIP world since Ward & Co. made the commitment to open source. Many solid years of value/benefit, and still counting - thanks Ward & Co.!
