After running commands for first install and server rebooting - I was not able to log in to the server again. The root password and my SSH key were both denied.

[WM: I think we've gotten the remaining kinks out of the CentOS 7 64-bit install. Try a fresh install and let us know how it goes. Part of the problem has been the CentOS folks continually moving the goalposts. Our apologies.]

When installing from CentOS 7 the ethernet port is not enabled by default. You MUST run the nmtui command and enable the port or the installer will fail.

[WM: While I don't have a way to verify it at the moment, I believe there is a button in the Network Settings dialog that will let you drill down and enable the ethernet port on bootup of CentOS 7. Same was true with CentOS 6.]
