Personally I have no experience whatsoever with this technology, however I've noticed some relatively small business economics.

In Amsterdam, airport-licensed drivers pay higher taxes than taxis that sit in the circle at Centraal Station. I think Amsterdam airport taxis fill the need of the American Airport Shuttle vans, albeit on a shorter, more predictable route to the airport.

Anyway, I've noticed the X wing doors for the rear passengers are very popular in airport taxis; that's a roomy car. The fuel + resale value seems to make the economics work out. I've seen drivers sitting in their cars at the airport 'refueling' stations reading newspapers, presumably taking a break and/or waiting for another fare.

Also, much of the electricity comes from Dutch wind farms.

There's also a nice electric train into town from the airport 4-6x an hour, lest it not be said.

[WM: Thomas Edison would be proud indeed. The combination of an electric car and solar panels on your roof is hard to resist in many jurisdictions. Thus far this year, we've had five months where our home electric bill was under $15. That's compared to average monthly bills of $500 or more in prior years. So, yes, we're sold.]

Best of luck in the chapter 2 of your electric adventure with i-pace.

I really wonder how you'll find range anxiety with that car - especially since you'll have to rely on 3rd party chargers and not tesla superchargers.

I've been keeping eye on model 3 for a while; since I'm UK based it is not available here yet. For me both model S and the i-pace a bit too much of a car both in terms of size and the price point.

[WM: Thanks. Range anxiety would be a major drawback with the I-Pace in the U.S. market right now. But we plan to use the car for around town driving only so it wasn't an issue.]

Owned two Model X's so far, and although I can understand your experiences, concerns, and exasperation be certain there are plenty of other owner experiences quite the opposite in almost every way (albeit with some bugs, we had one of the first few hundred X's produced, so you can imagine issues appearing!). In short, there really isn't anything remotely close to Tesla in any manner other than interior luxury upgrades (e.g. Jag i-Pace) - in every other manner no car the I-Pace in cluded isn't even close (I have driven several EV's including the I-Pace now for fun as a car guy tends to do!). FSD I never took too serious per se even though purchasing it - twice; rather expecting it to take far longer than anyone expected so Musk's tweeted timeline hopes over the last years I saw as simply that (and grateful for it - as every other manufacturer only has criticism & PR spin to keep their ICE sales going - ugh). Anyhow, I have noticed your Tesla articles have all been a little disillusioned & am sorry it has been that - for whatever it may be worth, there are alot like myslef (and a few handful of folks I know with cars too) that are over the moon ecstatic about our cars - years and tens of thousands of miles later (software and small build glitches withstanding)! So keep a little faith, at least they are driving change where no other has even tried with any sincerity.
