Today marks the one-week anniversary of Debian "trixie" 13.5 bringing critical security patches and some minor stability updates to this new operating system. It also addresses a major Linux kernel privilege escalation flaw (CVE-2026-46333) affecting default installs of Debian 13 as well as critical kernel patches. Debian 13 "trixie" will be supported for 5 years with three years of full, standard support and two years of Long Term Support (LTS).

With this new Debian 13.5 release, it seemed only fitting to also introduce the latest and greatest Incredible PBX ever. So we’re pleased to announce the immediate availability of Incredible PBX 2026 on Intel platforms featuring Debian 13, FreePBX® 17, and your choice of Asterisk® 22 or 23. You won’t find a comparable release from Sangoma because they are at least many months away from supporting Debian 13. Incredible PBX 2026 brings Asterisk deployments into operating system equivalence with FusionPBX and FS PBX, two of our other favorite VoIP platforms. And it provides a gentle reminder to Sangoma that official security updates for Debian 12 conclude in less than three weeks. And yet Debian 12 remains Sangoma’s exclusive support platform for FreePBX 17. One cannot help wondering how a company that owns both Asterisk and FreePBX can find itself a full version out of compliance with both its operating system of choice as well as its own flagship product, Asterisk 23. But here we are. So, we hope you enjoy Incredible PBX while the Asterisk platform continues to wither on the vine.

Getting Started with Incredible PBX 2026

To begin your Incredible PBX 2026 adventure, you first will need a Debian 13 stand-alone platform or virtual private server with at least 2GB of RAM and a 20+ GB storage device. You can download the Debian 13 net install ISO from here. Burn it to a USB stick and then boot your machine from the USB drive and follow your nose. Install the base Debian 13 platform with the SSH and System Utilities options only. Login to your new server as root and issue the following commands to begin the Incredible PBX 2026 installation:

wget https://filedn.com/lBgbGypMOdDm8PWOoOiBR7j/IncrediblePBX2026/IncrediblePBX2026.sh
chmod +x IncrediblePBX2026.sh
./IncrediblePBX2026.sh

Have a cup of coffee and return when the installer prompts you to create a default admin password for FreePBX GUI access. Immediately thereafter, you’ll be prompted to set up the default Postfix email platform. Simply tab to the confirmation option on the three setup screens to complete the Postfix setup procedure. Because most internet service providers block sending emails from a downstream server, you will also need to run the enable-gmail-smarthost-with-postfix script in the /root directory using a Gmail app password to actually activate Postfix. After a bit more whirring, you’ll be prompted to reboot your machine to complete the Incredible PBX 2026 install. You now can create your extensions, trunks, and outbound and inbound call routes, and your deployment will be complete.

Adding Text-to-Speech Support with Incredible PBX

For those who have deployed Incredible PBX 2026, we have a one-minute install script which will put all the TTS pieces in place to use SpeechGen.io with our News Headlines (951), Weather by ZIP Code (947), and any future Asterisk TTS applications. SpeechGen.io’s commercial TTS offering sets it apart both in terms of quality and cost. At a $9.99 price point for 100,000 characters, it provides an easy-to-deploy AGI interface. Simply create an API Key once you create your SpeechGen account using our referral link and purchase a bucket of TTS characters. Then issue the following commands to install the SpeechGen app on your server. Finally, edit speechgen.php in the final step and insert your account’s email address and API key. Then test things out by dialing 947 or 951.

cd /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin
wget http://incrediblepbx.com/speechgen.tar.gz
tar zxvf speechgen.tar.gz
rm -f speechgen.tar.gz
./install-speechgen-dialplan.sh
nano -w speechgen.php

Blocking Spammers & Scammers with Lenny

Over the years, we have introduced a number of methods to intercept calls from spammers and scammers. One of our favorites has always been forwarding these callers to Lenny to keep them busy for as long as they can tolerate his drivel. Another is to force callers to press a key before connecting to a live person. With election season fast approaching and current U.S. laws allowing politicians unlimited access to your dinner hour, we are pleased to once again introduce Lenny for Incredible PBX 2026. Here are the steps from the Linux CLI to deploy Lenny and provide a 53669 (spells "LENNY") extension to which you can forward unwanted callers.

fwconsole ma downloadinstall https://filedn.com/lBgbGypMOdDm8PWOoOiBR7j/IncrediblePBX2026/itslenny.tar.gz
mysql -u root -ppassw0rd asterisk -e "UPDATE itslenny SET enable = 'CHECKED';"
# if you want to Record Lenny calls, uncomment next line
# mysql -u root -ppassw0rd asterisk -e "UPDATE itslenny SET record = 'CHECKED';"
fwconsole reload
cd /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en
ln -s /var/www/html/admin/modules/itslenny/sounds/lenny lenny
mysql -u root -ppassw0rd -e "DELETE FROM asterisk.users WHERE extension = '53669';"
mysql -u root -ppassw0rd -e "DELETE FROM asterisk.devices WHERE id = '53669';"
asterisk -rx "database deltree AMPUSER/53669"
asterisk -rx "database deltree DEVICE/53669"
fwconsole reload
sed -i '/^\[from-internal-custom\]/a \\n;# // BEGIN Lenny\nexten => 53669,1,NoOp(Route directly to Lenny CLI Hook)\nexten => 53669,n,Goto(app-nv-itslenny,s,1)\n;# // END Lenny\n' /etc/asterisk/extensions_custom.conf
asterisk -rx "dialplan reload"

(1) Click once on the Incredible PBX 2026 virtual machine in the VM List. Then (2) click the Settings button. In System tab, check Hardware Clock in UTC Time. In the Audio tab, check the Enable Audio option and choose your sound card. In the Network tab for Adapter 1, check the Enable Network Adapter option. From the Attached to pull-down menu, choose Bridged Adapter. Then select your network card from the Name list. Then click OK. That’s all the configuration that is necessary for Incredible PBX. (3) Now click the Start button to run the Incredible PBX 2026 virtual machine.
